Fall Surf & Beach Cleanup at Scripps Pier: Sunday, November 1st

We’re heading back to Scripps Pier for another surf and beach cleanup on Sunday, November 1st, from 8am to 11am. Our last cleanup pulled 15 lbs. of trash and microplastics off the sand before it could reach the water. Every piece we pick up is one less piece in the lineup, and one less risk to marine life. Let’s keep setting the example for fellow surfers and beachgoers.

Surf First, Then Give Back

Come early and get a morning session in with Mamala team riders and friends, then meet us on the sand at 8am for the cleanup. It’s also the morning Daylight Saving Time ends, so you get an extra hour of sleep before dawn patrol. You’ll go home stoked twice: once for the waves, and once for giving back to one of our favorite surf spots.

Where to Find Us

Scripps Pier, 8650 Kennel Way, La Jolla, CA 92037
Look for the white pop-up tent just to the right of the stairs (when facing ocean).

The Details

  • Gear is covered. We’ll have work gloves, grabbers, and buckets ready. You’re welcome to bring your own.

  • All are welcome. This is a family-friendly event, so bring your kids, your surf crew, and your friends who don’t surf yet.

See You in the Water

Cleanups like this are how a surf community takes care of their second home. Whether you’re paddling out at first light or just coming down to help, there’s a spot for you. When you wear Mamala, you’re already part of this. We can’t wait to see you November 1st.
