In Pursuit: A Film Fest Worth Your Friday Night

This Friday, June 19th, something special is happening in Pacific Beach, and we think you should be there.

Windansea Surf Club and Mavericks Beach Club are teaming up to present In Pursuit, a one-night film fest and fundraiser celebrating surf, skate, and sailing culture. The event is open to the public, doors open at 5pm, and the whole night goes toward supporting independent filmmaking and one of San Diego's most beloved nonprofit surf clubs.

The film lineup features an incredible cast: Jacob Szekely, Letty Mortensen, Ollie Henry, Zoe McDougall, Wade Carmichael, teamrider Jen Smith, Mele Saili, Chris Miyashiro, Keili McEvilly, Nick Broms, Peter King, and more. Watching women like Jen Smith, Mele Saili, and Keili McEvilly on screen, doing what they do, is exactly the kind of thing that reminds us why we paddle out.

Beyond the films, there will be exclusive Windansea Surf Club x In Pursuit collab shirts (limited run, designed by Emma De Jourday and printed by Overload), $5 drinks from 5 to 9pm with select proceeds going directly to Windansea Surf Club's nonprofit, and prize drawings throughout the night. One of those prizes? A Mamala wetsuit gift certificate. We're proud to be part of an evening that puts community first.

It's a rare night where showing up is itself an act of support. For the filmmakers. For the club. For the community that keeps San Diego's surf culture alive and rooted.
